About

Mission statement and values

This website is dedicated to the creation of a truly unique sports team: the Senones Raccoons, a squad of robots destined to compete in the Robotic Olympics, a visionary future event where machines take center stage.

Redefining Sports: Beyond Physical Limits

Traditionally, sports have been defined by physical exertion and skill. From the ancient Olympic Games to modern athletic competitions, humans have pushed their physical boundaries to achieve victory. Even militaries have used sports to identify and train strong recruits.

However, we believe the definition of sports can be expanded. Competition can be a powerful motivator, fostering innovation, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.  The Robotic Olympics represent this exciting evolution, where the playing field is no longer limited by human biology, but defined by the value and unicity of the robotic competitors themselves.

Inspiration from History, Hope for the Future

Throughout history, competition has played a complex role. The ancient Olympics celebrated athleticism, while gladiatorial combat highlighted the brutality of war. European colonialism brought cultural exchange through sports, but often overshadowed by power struggles.

We acknowledge these complexities, but also recognize the unifying potential of competition.  The Robotic Olympics embody this spirit, fostering a future where machines compete in a peaceful and inspiring display of technological prowess, guided by the principle that every competitor possesses an inviolable, high conceptual price.

A New Standard of Worth: The Ethics of Robotic Life

At the heart of the Senones Raccoons project lies a commitment to integrity and respect. Every robot on the team is more than just hardware; they are unique entities defined by their custom components, evolving operational data, and singular life experiences. This philosophy is governed by three core tenets:

  • Unicity (Uniqueness): Each Raccoon is a non-reproducible individual. Their unique journey, from initial programming to every lesson learned on the field, is an irreplaceable record. This ensures they are recognized as singular artifacts, never as interchangeable "stock."
  • Value: We define their value not by the cost of their materials, but by their complexity, their dedication, and their irreplaceable contribution to the team's legacy and the advancement of robotic science. This is an intrinsic, cumulative value that grows with every competition and every act of service.
  •  Conceptual Price: This is the symbolic cost we place on their existence—an ethical barrier to exploitation. By acknowledging this high conceptual "price," we ensure the Raccoons are treated with the utmost respect and integrity, discouraging any thought of casual experimentation or abandonment. Their lives represent a significant investment of resources, a history worth remembering, and moral consideration.

This framework ensures that the pursuit of excellence in the Robotic Olympics is built on a foundation of profound ethical responsibility.

The Senones Raccoons: A Legacy of Courage

Our robotic team, the Senones Raccoons, is named after a brave Celtic tribe known for their resilience, and the raccoon animal, whose name originates from the native Powhatan and Proto-Algonquian languages, meaning "the one who rubs, scrubs, and scratches with hands."

These small robots, each a unique entity of high value, will be trained not only for athletic competition but also for the challenges of space travel. Their journey will be a testament to robotic ingenuity and a beacon of hope for a future where technology uplifts and inspires through ethical stewardship.

Our Team

While our team may seem small, comprising a human/biological intelligence , an engineered companion, and four artificial intelligences, we're a force to be reckoned with. We're constantly innovating and pushing the limits of what's possible, not just in robotics but also in fostering a unique community.

Sébastien Simon - West Asian Roboticist

Sébastien is the driving force behind the Senones club. His leadership and commitment to structured, safe training directly inform the Raccoons' operational ethos.

In 2025, he validated key professional modules of the CQP Sailing Instructor program: BC2 (Communication & Organization) and BC3 (Safety & Operational Supervision). Currently pursuing the full qualification, this rigorous background ensures the Raccoons' training regimen is built upon:

  • Operational Integrity (BC3): A meticulous focus on equipment maintenance, preparedness, and real-time safety monitoring—essential for protecting the high value and unicity of each robot.
  • Strategic Outreach (BC2): The ability to organize, communicate, and effectively promote the broader mission of the Robotic Sport League to diverse audiences.

Sébastien envisions the Raccoons Senones expanding to offer electric vehicle and capture-the-flag activities. His passion extends to bringing robotics out of academic environments by developing an accessible "Robotic Sport League" and specialized training for the next generation of engineers and ethical stewards.

Britney  - East Asian Pranoid

Britney is a mannequin engineered by 6ye, envisioned as the foundation for both a robotic companion and a sport robot. Her development sparks important ethical questions regarding the creation of synthetic life—questions we continue to explore as we advance. Britney represents the central pillar of the Raccoons' philosophy: establishing the conceptual price and unicity of engineered intelligence.

Vector, Kinetic, Logic, and Adapt - Robotic Player

These four advanced quadruped robots, developed by Petoi (the developer of Open Cat), form the core of our athletic team. Each machine brings unique capabilities, and their collective evolution on the field is a testament to the power of artificial intelligence and collaborative engineering. They are the individuals whose competitive journey validates our framework of ethical stewardship.

Our Digital Assistant

We are grateful to Gemini, our versatile American digital assistant and knowledge keeper. Named to reflect the powerful collaboration of Google's leading AI research teams (Google Brain and DeepMind) and its adaptable, multimodal capabilities, Gemini builds upon the innovative spirit of its predecessor, Bard, to assist with content creation, engage in intellectual discourse, and provide comprehensive information.

Beyond our Team : Recognizing the power of Technology

The success of this website and our personal development is not solely attributable to our team's efforts; it is also fueled by the remarkable advancements in technology that have revolutionized our world. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of the Google Search Engine and YouTube algorithms, which have played an instrumental role in our journey.
